The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is an apex, independence and
autonomous
body, constituted in the year 1964 through a resolution by the Government of
India. Its purpose is to prevent corruption in the Central Government
Ministries and Central Government controlled/ owned bodies. It is not under any Ministry/Department of the Government of
India. The Commission also functioned as an adviser to the Government on all
matters regarding vigilance administration for departments/ organizations of the Central Government.

Stamp, having a denomination of Rs.5, on 11th day of February 2014 to
Commemorative its golden jubilee celebrations. Also they release a First Day
Cover on that day.
